The valley rises quickly behind the waterfront. A flat above Puerto Escala may look close to the beach on a map while the route home involves steep roads, steps or several levels inside the complex. Buyers who plan to walk should inspect the full route from the entrance to the beach, supermarkets and bus stops; parking beside the building matters more on the upper slopes.
